    Call to Worship

    Leader: In the quiet of the night, and in the busyness of the day, God meets us.
    People say: We come into His presence just as we are—weary, hopeful, and seeking His blessing.
    Leader:
    When our own strength fails, and our clever schemes run out, the Lord remains faithful.
    People say: He breaks our pride to heal our souls; He humbles us to lift us up.
    Leader:
    Let us drop our defenses and step into holy ground.
    All say: Let us worship the God who knows our name, heals our wounds, and holds us in His everlasting arms!

    Opening Prayer

    *Affirmation of Faith                                                        UMH #881

    I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth;

    And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;

    who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

    born of the Virgin Mary,

    suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, dead, and buried;*

    the third day he rose from the dead;

    he ascended into heaven,

    and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit,

    the holy catholic** church,

    the communion of saints,

    the forgiveness of sins,

    the resurrection of the body,

    and the life everlasting. Amen

  • a bit of church history

    A look back into the history of FUMC Sanger. Before the building we currently have at the corner of N. 5th and Locust we had this wonderful building at N. 5th and Cherry. (the original home of the stained glass we see in our current building). This building was taken down and two of the large cornerstones remain as part of our history.

    And some things stay the same over the years.
